Swale Tri Club  is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all its members. The club believes that it is important that members, coaches, administrators and parents associated with the club should, at all times, show respect and understanding for the safety and welfare of others. Therefore, members are encouraged to be open at all times and to share any concerns or complaints that they may have about any aspect of the club with the Club Welfare Officer.
Adults code of Conduct
SWALE TRI CLUB is fully committed to promoting best practice and etiquette within its members. The club believes that it is important that members and all associated with the club should, at all times, show respect and understanding for the safety and welfare of others and promotes respect of others regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, cultural background, religion, political persuasion or athletic ability.
As a member of Swale Tri Club you are expected to abide by the following members’ code of conduct:
  • Report to a coach any known medical conditions that may affect your ability to participate in any club activity
  • Members should keep to agreed timings for training and competitions or inform their coach if they if they are going to be lat
  • Inform their coach of any other coaching they are receiving
  • Should arrive before the start of session and follow session rules.
  • Should bring suitable clothing, relevant equipment, adequate drinks and food where appropriate.
  • Members must support and encourage good practice and correct actions at all times. 

  • Members must wear club kit when representing the Club at Races or assisting with club activities. 


  • Members are expected to voluntarily support club sessions and events where possible and refrain from arranging ad-hoc club activities that may interfere with official Club sessions.
  • Members must agree not to bring the Club into disrepute.  Therefore, members are encouraged to be open at all times and to share any concerns or complaints via the right channels.
 
Failure to comply with the Code of Conduct will result in a review by the Committee and possible revoke of your membership.

Parental/Guardians Code of Conduct
The British Triathlon ‘Code of Conduct for parents’ summarizes the essence of good ethical conduct and practice within Triathlon. This applies not only to parents, but also to guardians, career’s, families and spectators alike
  • Help your child to recognise good performance, not just results to avoid undue disappointment.
  • Support your child’s involvement and help them to enjoy Triathlon. Remember that the aim of the Sport is for the children to have fun, improve and feel good.
  • Ensure your child arrives before the start of session and follow session rules.
  • Bring suitable clothing, relevant equipment, adequate drinks and food where appropriate
  • Set a good example by applauding all good performance, whether by your child or by another.
  • Young people are involved in organised sport for their enjoyment – not yours, so do not force your child to take part.
  • Discourage unfair play and arguing with officials, instead accept officials’ judgements
  • Use correct and proper language at all times
  • Recognise the value and importance or volunteers, coaches, referee’s and event organisers – it is their time and dedication that keeps the Sport alive.

Junior Athlete Code of Conduct
The British Triathlon ‘Code of Conduct for juniors’ summarizes the essence of good ethical conduct and practice within Triathlon.
  • Compete within the rules and respect officials and their decisions
  • Be polite and respect other competitors, coaches, and officials
  • Listen to what the coach, volunteers or event marshals ask you to do. Avoid destructive behaviour.
  • Participate in sessions with enthusiasm and to the best of their abilities
  • Have some input to the training that you do and the competitions that you take part in
  • Members must wear suitable kit – for training and events, as agreed with the coach.
